Personal Page & Introduction

Up until the voyages of Marco Polo in the latter half of the 13th century, next to nothing was known about the Far East in Europe and vice versa. As time passed wealthy Europeans were introduced
to exotic goods from Asia and suddenly a demand was created for these goods. Central Asia being located directly in between these two worlds played an important part in the transfer of not only goods
but of culture and ideas. This Wiki will hopefully give people a better understanding of the importance of this region in uniting people. I hope to provide historical accounts and then discuss their relevance
from an anthropological perspective toward the formation of civilization. The history and culture of Central Asia during this period is as rich and tightly woven as the textiles that travelled through it.
